Terms and Conditions

WEDDINGS BOOKING MINIMUM: A minimum of 4 makeups is required for wedding bookings.

TO CONFIRM A BOOKING - A 25% non refundable booking fee payment is required to secure your booking and chosen date, which is deducted from your total invoice. A booking is only confirmed once the booking fee is received into Claudia Louis-Marie’s nominated New Zealand Bank Account.

REMAINING BALANCE PAYMENT - The remaining balance payment must be paid on the due date. For weddings this is typically 3 weeks prior to the wedding date.

Due to the nature of Claudia’s business structure, being that once your booking fee is received your date is held and secured with all other work turned away, payments are non refundable or transferable at any time and bookings are not able to be postponed. Exceptions to this are noted below in the Covid-19 Policy and the Force Maejure Clause.


ALL OTHER GENERAL BOOKINGS (EVENT MAKEUP) - A 50% non refundable booking fee payment is required to secure your booking and chosen date, which is deducted from your total invoice. A booking is only confirmed once the booking fee payment is received into Claudia Louis-Marie’s nominated New Zealand Bank Account. The remaining balance payment must be paid on the due date in your Client Service Agreement. This is typically 1 week prior to your event date .‘Last minute’ bookings made on or within 7 days of the event date require the invoice paid in full as a non refundable booking fee payment to confirm and secure the booking.

EXCLUSIVITY CLAUSE - The client grants Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist the sole and exclusive right to provide all makeup services agreed to on wedding day, and/or an assistant/replacement she provides.


CHANGES WITHIN A BOOKING - Requests to increase total numbers will all be accommodated where possible, but will be subject to availability. Deductions to the invoice are unfortunately not permitted. Any services no longer required must still be paid for, as Claudia would have accepted the booking based on those numbers.


ADDITIONAL FEES

ADMIN FEE: A non refundable $100 admin fee payment is required for all wedding bookings. This fee covers costs such as, but not limited to, administration time between Claudia and the client in the lead up to the wedding, etc.

ADDITIONAL ARTIST FEE: If the booking is for more than 5 people, or time restricted - an additional artist may be required. Claudia will supply one of her professional assistants from her team of artists, and this service will be charged at an additional rate.  

AFTER HOURS FEE: Bookings required after hours (before 7am) will incur an ‘after hours’ fee. Travel start time is included as part of the booking e.g if Claudia or the artist from her team has to start the trip to you at 6:45am, an after hours fee will be charged.

ACCOMODATION FEE: Accommodation Fee for one night is $300 (+$100 if an assistant artist is also required) and shall not exceed this amount where possible. Accommodation for Claudia or the artist from her team may be required for one night when travel for 2 hours or more one way is required, or if there is an exceptionally early start that could otherwise impact the standard of Claudia or the artist from her team’s work. Claudia shall book any private accommodation required at her discretion. Full accomodation costs must be paid for with the initial booking fee and are non refundable.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY FEE: Generally Claudia is closed on public holidays and during holiday periods. If she or her team are however available - an additional 15% fee will apply to bookings on Public Holidays and during some holiday periods (eg. a wedding during the Easter break, or between Christmas and New Years).

FLIGHTS: If flights are required Claudia shall book them at her discretion, at the clients expense. Flight pricing is not within Claudia’s control. Claudia will provide an exact quoted price as per the airline as at the date. Claudia holds no responsibility to any increase in airfare costs between the time of quoting and booking. Full flight costs must be paid for with the initial booking fee and are non refundable.


TRAVEL SERVICE -  The Travel Service fee is charged from either Kaitaia, Auckland or Whangarei (depending where Claudia or the artist from her team will be travelling from on your date). A minimum of 4 makeups or to the value of is required for a booking to qualify for the travel service.

TRAVEL FEE: POA.

TRAVEL TO WAIHEKE ISLAND: Waiheke Island weddings have a flat rate travel service of $350 (+$100 if an assistant artist is also required). In addition, pickup and drop off to/from the Waiheke Island Ferry terminal is required for all Waiheke Island bookings.

REQUIREMENTS WHEN WE COME TO YOU: Certain requirements are needed when Claudia or the artist from her team comes to you, so that we can perform the services to our highest standard.  A dining size table must be made available for us to set up at. Ample natural light is necessary for services to be performed properly. A power socket must be available close to the work area. If there is no available parking at the location, you must inform Claudia well in advance so that other arrangements can be made. If parking is not free, then parking costs will be passed on to you.


POSTPONEMENTS - Due to the nature of Claudia’s business structure, being that once your booking is confirmed, all other work / inquiries for that date are turned away, Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist does not postpone bookings. If you wish to change your booking to a different date, it will be considered as a cancellation of the original booking and a new booking must be made. Exceptions to this are noted below in the Covid-19 Policy and the Force Maejure Clause.


CANCELLATIONS - Should you wish to to cancel your booking, you agree to forfeit your non refundable booking fee, plus pay any cancellation fees, as noted below. All cancellations must be made in writing via email to hello@claudialouismarie.com

CANCELLATIONS WITHIN 6 MONTHS: Cancellations within 6 months of the date the booking falls on will still require 50% of the invoice to be paid, as a cancellation fee.

CANCELLATIONS WITHIN 3 MONTHS: Cancellations within 3 months of the date the booking falls on will require full payment.

Upon notice of cancellation, a final invoice will be emailed to the client. Full payment must be received within 5 days of the invoice date. Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist reserves the right to take any legal action at any time for non payment.

ON THE DAY: Timing is critical and must be strictly adhered to. Any unreasonable waiting time outside the scheduled appointment (ie. agreed timing set out prior to day) will be invoiced after the wedding date and must be paid. If the client has not arrived, delays start time or is not ready to begin makeup session within 15 minutes after their designated appointment time, the booking or service may be deemed cancelled and the booking or service payment will be null and void entirely. Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist will make the final call on whether a booking or service will still go ahead if the client is late or delays start time.


COVID-19 POLICY - subject to change based on the rules + restrictions within New Zealand Covid Alert Levels.

If Claudia and her team are able to operate within the guidelines of the New Zealand Government, bookings may proceed and will be expected to do so. International Border / Quarantine Restrictions / Gathering Limit Restrictions do not prevent Claudia and her from being able to operate, so therefore bookings may proceed and will be expected to do so. The standard Cancellation Policy shall apply if you choose to cancel or wish to postpone your booking and any monies paid are non transferrable and non refundable.

In the event your wedding cannot go ahead ie. close proximity services are not able to operate within the guidelines of the New Zealand Government, or in the event regional boundary restrictions are put in place by the New Zealand Government, your payments are non- refundable, but, your booking and any monies paid will be transferrable to a new date up to 1 year out from your original date. New season pricing may apply if you postpone to a date in a different season. If you are not postponing the booking and are cancelling, then the standard Cancellation Policy shall apply.

If Claudia nor her team are available on your new date you wish to postpone to;

For weddings; You will receive a credit for the amount you have paid ie. Booking Fee or Booking Fee + Remaining Balance. If only one new date option is provided and it is a date on which Claudia or her team is not available, you will forfeit up to 100% of your booking fee as a loss suffered. This amount is calculated case by case. It is imperative you check with all of your vendors before picking a new date to postpone to, in addition to offering multiple date options. Rescheduling a postponed wedding should be a collaboration between couples and vendors. Please provide multiple new date options. Credit is valid for 1 year from your original date, to use towards one new future booking, and will have the cost of any services already performed, such as a Bridal Trial, deducted from it.

For general event makeup bookings: You will receive a credit for the full amount you have paid, to use towards one new future booking. Credit is valid for 1 year.


CANCELLATION BY ARTIST -  In the unlikely event that Claudia or her team needs to withdraw from a booking, she reserves the right to do so at any time if she is unable to perform her duties for any reason, without explanation. Claudia will then endeavour to find a replacement, either from the Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist team of professional makeup artists, or outside of the team. Only if Claudia is unable to find a replacement she deems adequate, will the client receive a refund  (minus services already performed - e.g Bridal Trial). The client agrees that 100% of monies paid refunded is the only liability to Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist. Refunds will be made in full within within 30 days. Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist will not be liable for any nonperformance due to unforeseen circumstances. 


LIMITATION OF LIABILITY -  In the unlikely event of a total failure or cancellation of the booking by Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist or in any other circumstances the liability of Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist to the client shall be limited to the total value of the booking. Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss as a result of any form or postponement or cancellation to a booking.


HYGIENE / HEALTH LIABILITY - You are legally obliged to disclose to Claudia or the artist from her team if you are sick, ill or contagious in any way at the time Claudia or the artist from her team will be performing a makeup session on you, or if at anytime you have come into contact or been exposed to anyone who is / was / may be / might have been sick, ill or contagious in any way. Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist and her team reserve the right to make any final decision on whether a client is unsafe to perform a makeup session on. If the client discloses they are unwell at reasonable amount of time prior to the makeup session, a credit will be offered. If the client has not made an effort to inform Claudia minimum of 4 hours prior to the makeup start time, Claudia is not obliged to offer any credit. The only acceptable form of contact for this is email, call or text. Social media messages are not accepted form of contact.


FORCE MAJEURE - A Force Majeure Event can be defined as but is not limited to epidemics/pandemics, acts of god, and government restrictions. If a Force Majeure Event prevents Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist from providing her services on the event date, Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist shall, without limiting her other rights, provide a credit of any payments made (less services already performed) to be used on an alternative date within a 12 month period of initial event date. Standard terms and conditions apply once an alternative date is confirmed. New date is subject to availability.


GENERAL - By making a booking with Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist / Team the client engages in “Service” and agrees to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Once you have engaged with Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist / Team it is assumed you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions.  These terms and conditions are non-negotiable. Prices and terms are subject to change. Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist reserves the right to terminate your booking for any non-compliance of terms without resolution of dispute. All pricing is in NZD and GST applies. Pricing is always excluding GST unless stated. These terms apply to Claudia Louis-Marie Makeup Artist and her team of artists.
